Attempting a return to RP's / Looking for a mentor

So it's been around 2 years since the last time I RP'd on this site and I've had the huge urge lately to come back and start again, so I find myself here trying to restart seemingly from square one. I had an original account at one point, but the username and password have since been lost to the sand of time. Or any other cliche metaphor you care to use to refer to the passage of time. So I made this account with absolutely no posts of any kind, hence the starting from square one.

So I'd like to find a mentor of sorts to help me re-learn my once acceptable RPing abilities, as well as possibly walking me through the new "Roleplay" system on the forums I was rather intimidated by. The last time I was on the site, I'm fairly sure the only two ways to RP were in the Chat, and the Play-by-post Roleplay forums. I took a browse into the some RP's in the new Roleplay System and found a few I was interested in, but I was a little intimidated by the new format. I understand all the sections and such, but maybe I was just a little off-put about how to go about joining one that was already in progress as it seemed a little strange considering the RP's can now be divided into specific sections instead of a forum.

Anyways, any help from a mentor or just someone to give me some help to ease myself back into RPing and some of the newer aspects of the site (Namely the new Roleplay System) would be greatly appreciated.
